A former US Attorney known for handling high-profile cases—including corporate espionage, public corruption, and national security matters—has been found dead at a home in Alexandria, Virginia.
Some shit you should know before you read: Jessica Aber was a well-known federal prosecutor who served as US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia from 2021 to 2025. Appointed by former President Joe Biden and unanimously confirmed by the Senate, Aber led one of the country’s most prominent and active federal districts, overseeing a team of roughly 300 personnel. During her tenure, she led major prosecutions, including a landmark corporate espionage case against Siemens Energy Inc. that resulted in a $104 million penalty for stealing trade secrets. Under her leadership, the office aggressively pursued violent crime, federal firearms offenses, and pandemic-related fraud—charging over 250 defendants in firearms cases and targeting more than $125 million in COVID-19 fraud schemes.

What’s going on now: According to police, Jessica Aber, 43, was found dead on the morning of Saturday, March 22, at a residence in the 900 block of Beverley Drive in Alexandria. Officers with the Alexandria Police Department responded to a report of an unresponsive woman around 9:18 a.m. and found Aber deceased at the scene. Authorities have not confirmed whether the residence belonged to her or who made the initial 911 call. No additional details about the circumstances of her death have been released.
The Alexandria Police Department said an active investigation is underway, as is standard in cases like this. The cause and manner of death are currently pending determination by the Virginia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
